Residential work we do

  • New homes and extensions. Full wiring from the board out, to the plans and to the standard, with the certificate at the end.
  • Renovations. Kitchens, bathrooms, laundries: new circuits for induction, ovens and heat pumps, the extra outlets everyone wishes they'd added, and safety switch protection where the old board has none.
  • Switchboard upgrades. Ceramic fuses out, breakers and RCDs in, asbestos panels handled properly.
  • Lighting. Downlight conversions, LED upgrades, outdoor and garden lighting, sensors and dimming.
  • Security and CCTV. Cameras, intercoms, sensor lighting and the cabling that runs them.
  • Fault finding and repairs. Tripping safety switches, dead outlets, flickering lights.
  • EV charger installation. A dedicated circuit, the right RCD protection, and the board checked for capacity before you buy the charger.
  • Safety inspections. For a home you're buying, a home you're renting out, or a home that's 60 years old and has never been looked at.
  • Ceiling fans, smoke alarms, power points, ovens and cooktops. The everyday list.

Older homes in the western suburbs

Allenby Gardens, Findon, Flinders Park, Seaton, Woodville and the suburbs around them were built out from the 1950s to the 1970s. That housing stock has a set of electrical problems we know by heart: original wiring at the end of its life, small boards with no RCDs and often an asbestos backing, single-phase supply that's now carrying a split system, an induction cooktop and a heat pump, and outdoor fittings that have never been sealed properly. None of it is a reason to panic. All of it is a reason to have the board and wiring looked at before the next renovation, not after.

Coastal homes

From Henley Beach to Semaphore, salt air corrodes outdoor GPOs, meter boxes and switchboard enclosures faster than anywhere else in Adelaide. We fit marine-grade and sealed fittings outdoors on coastal homes and check the board enclosure at every visit.

What we won't do

We won't give you a fixed price for a fault we haven't seen, and we won't quote a renovation from a phone description. The site visit is free and it's where the accurate number comes from. We also won't sign a certificate of compliance for work we didn't do.

FAQs

Residential electrician questions

Do you do small residential jobs?

Yes. Power points, ceiling fans, a light fitting, a smoke alarm. Small jobs are how most of our long-term residential customers started with us.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

For scheduled residential work we quote the job. For fault finding we charge our hourly rate and tell you before we start. Our cost guide has the typical Adelaide ranges.

Can you check the wiring in an old house before we renovate?

Yes, and it's the right order to do it in. An inspection tells you whether the board and wiring can take the renovation or whether the budget needs to include them. Finding out mid-renovation is the expensive version.

Do you provide a certificate of compliance?

Yes, for every notifiable installation we complete. It's lodged as SA requires and you get a copy.
